Five Attention Grabbing Ideas for Social Media Engagement

Who doesn't want to grab attention on social media??

Social media is all about maneuvering to grow your audience, gain engagement and increase community.

With over a billion active users, Instagram has the highest engagement rate.

73% of Instagram users consider this platform the best way for brands to reach them, and more than 200 million of them visit at least one business profile daily.

Whoa, right?

While this is great to know, when there are 25 million business profiles and two million advertisers on Instagram to promote products and services-it seems close to impossible to engage more followers than you have now.

Here are some actionable steps you can take today to accomplish your Instagram goals:

  1. Start with a Hook - Start a caption asking something to what the audience would like to get the answer.

  • Intrigue to keep them reading

  • Start with a joke that the audience will understand

  • Surprise with a fact

  • Write an attention-grabbing word or expression

  • Share a quote

2. Spend Time: Put creativity into writing Instagram captions

  • Attractive words you use in texts, structure it for better readability

  • Analyze your efforts on Instagram

  • Use analytics, optimize accordingly, and increase followers and social engagement for better overall results

3. Answer, "What's in it for me?" - To get engaged, users need to identify themselves with your message on Instagram.

  • Offer tips or tricks that could help to solve their problems

  • Educate them

  • Provide step-by-step instructions

  • Relate to their problem

4. Tell Stories

If you want people to listen to your message on social media, tell them a story. This is a chance to build identity and share authentically by making a personal connection with followers. Stories help you to hook attention and remember you. Users should recognize themselves in your story. Once it happens, they respond.

5. Using Sensory Words in Captions - Write Instagram captions that help users see, hear, taste, smell or feel your message. 5 categories of such words include:

  • Tactile

  • Auditory

  • Smell

  • Taste

  • Motion

Are you using any of these Instagram caption ideas to engage? Did I miss anything?
